United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) is partnering with Airbnb.org, a nonprofit founded by Airbnb to provide emergency housing in times of crisis, to provide free emergency housing to residents displaced by the Hawk Fire in Reno.
Through the partnership, UWNNS is identifying residents who have been displaced by the fire, including families whose homes are located within an evacuation zone or whose structures have been lost or damaged as a result of the fire, and connecting them with Airbnb.org. Airbnb.org then provides eligible residents with credits to book an Airbnb.org stay that meets their needs while they start the recovery process.
This is possible in a joint collaborative effort between UWNNS and Airbnb.org in partnership with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, Nevada 211, American Red Cross of Northern Nevada, Washoe County School District – Family Resource Centers, and Scouting America - Nevada Area Council.
