$158,147 in Emergency Response and Recovery Funding Dispersed

Seven nonprofit agencies and five individual households received $158,147 in emergency response and recovery funding. 

As of February 24th, $158,147 of the $224,662.28 raised for the Davis Fire Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) has been spent, leaving $66,515.28 to be distributed. All EAF donations are Restricted Funds and United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra has not / will not retain any amount for administration.  

Individual Households 

Of the six households identified by the Red Cross and receiving disaster case management through Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, five have already been supported through the Emergency Assistance Fund. One application is being finalized to ensure the individual is set up for long-term success and stability following the fire's devastating impact. Key items that were provided to these households for long-term sustainability include: 

  • Replacing vital items such as tools, hygiene products, food, household essentials, and clothing. 
  • Assistance securing housing solutions and rental support to maintain stable living during a challenging time. 
  • Help in replacing important documents, including personal identification and property titles. 

Agency Initiatives

Assistance included funding seven nonprofits to provide essential services for those affected by the fire. This support covered hot meals, transportation, fuel assistance, and shelter for displaced individuals. Funds also helped distribute gift cards, food supplies, and clothing to families in need. Mental health counseling was made available to support both fire victims and first responders. Additionally, funding was provided for the rescue and care of wild horses impacted by the fire.
